Domain theft refers to transference of domain without consent of the current domain owner while domain theft protection is a service to protect against theft, check price.
This may happen when someone manages to initiate transfer request on behalf of owner. While owner is intimated about the transfer request, there are possibilities when owner is unable to take timely actions, for example the owner is on vacation and cannot refuse the transfer.
What is the protection from theft ?
ChromeIS protects your domain against theft. When a transfer request is initiated, an additional approval from ChromeIS is required.
We systematically change the domain, during registration or at the end of a transfer, to a status in which transfers cannot be made. If another registrar requests the transfer of this domain, it will be refused automatically.
If a domain transfer is requires, domain’ theft protection must be disabled before initiation of transfer request. After which, transfer request may proceed as usual.

The protection is only possible for the following TLDs:
.com / .net / .org / .biz / .info / .mobi / .be / .fr / .de / .gr / .it / .me
